Homeopathy from Greek Homeo – meaning same Pathos – meaning suffering is an alternative method of treatment that is based on the concept that substances that produce symptoms of illness in healthy individuals can cure a sick person exhibiting the same symptoms if given in very diluted and small doses. Like many alternative methods, homeopathy is believed to encourage the body to heal itself. In the United States, homeopathic medicine is regulated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) as it classifies them as drugs.
