For Muscle Cramps

Editor: Yael Rosenberg, RN, B.S.H

For ladies cramping monthly as the menstrual cycle begins, and for all folk, who deal with  cramping due to over-tiredness, or exercise or just because. You do not need to run to the pharmacy!  Here's what Bubbe will have you do.

Two Spoons of Honey Bubbe’s old time remedy for muscle cramps was two teaspoons of honey with meals. Imagine not having to deal with the side effects of muscle relaxants. There is a remedy that you would never believe could offer relief, but does.

Urine Compresses You have got to be kidding, you say. Urine? Indeed, the benefits and uses of urine are quite surprising. If you have any kind of pain especially muscle pain or if you see any swelling, the following remedy works wonders. Place a hot urine compress on the area. Please remember that it must be hot...not scorching but definitely not cool. Leave it on for a few hours and watch the pain and swelling diminish.  Don't do it in public.. and you may want a nose clip for the duration.

If your grandmother, aunt, or neighbor revealed an old-fashioned remedy to you, and you would like to share it with us all, please send it to
